22 weeks to 6 months! HAPPY Half Year Louis!

I wish I knew where the last month went in time. And how did this little man make it to his half birthday already?

Yep! Yesterday 2-11-12 he was a full 6 months! My little 6 month old who knows how to poke out his bottom lip!

This has been a busy month for him Louis and a sick one. In the milestone area he is finally sitting up ( not perfect but he can hold it for minutes at a time now.)

He is now helping to hold his bottles. The smaller ones are easier due to him having the fat/wide Dr. Brown's bottles. He knows his name now, and knows how to flirt! I was singing a somewhat love song( Loved you for a thousand years) popular from that vampire movie, and he turns his head to the side and bats his eyes at me!

He also does not like to be left alone. He knows how to cry to say he is bored or needs to be changed! He loves to play with Mama and Daddy's mouth and teeth and listen to us talk. When he gets made everything starts with " MMMMM." One day it sounded like he said MmmmaMMMAA, but pretty sure that was just how his mouth moved at the time.

He loves grabbing things/toys now and putting them right away in his mouth or arm wrestling on the changing table. He has has some increase awareness of cause and effect toys ( those are very interesting.) He also enjoys walks outside and looking at outside. He also enjoys grabbing his car mobile and making it make clicking noises. I am waiting for the motor to kill on it! He is also trying to pet/grab the dogs now when they come by...they don't seem to mind as long as he lets them give him kisses.

Oh and at the end of this month he very interested in Mama's computer, phone and tablet.hehehe

His 2 little bottom teeth are more prominent at the end of this month.

We continue to try baby food. I ordered all my stuff to  make it at home. He was moving more in that direction, but this latest illness has set him back and isn't wanting anything but breast milk or formula. He lost almost pound while he was sick! Poor fella!

Also now that he is sitting he up he can sit up in his bath tub and play with his rubber duckies! He LOVES LOVES LOVES the water! One night he and Mama took a bath together and I laid him in both directions supine and prone. He kicked and splashed his hands and feet. In prone he wiggled his butt like he knew he could go somewhere. He is going to have a lot of fun at the pool this summer.

As I stated above he has been sick a few times this month. This last illness made mama and daddy miss school and work for 2 weeks ( we splint days). He went see an ENT and was found to have 2 bad ear infections and was put on Augmentin which has helped his SO much. We will be going to see a pulmonologist next week to address his ongoing asthma issues. He has been on breathing treatments with albuterol, but it doesn't always help him much.

Jack is still around. Just so you know I got Jack as a little girl in 1982 from the NOLA zoo. Jack is old enough to be Louis' uncle!Enjoy this  months favorite Jack pictures below:

And to close, this month Louis also got his 1st 1st cousin in the Broussard family! Brae was born on 1-30-12! He is 5.5months older than her. They are going to be great playmates!

I almost forgot BOOKS! I picked up some more little books at the dollar store. Here are the books we looked at this month:

thirty, thirty-one, THIRTY-TWO

I am not afraid to post my age and the age I will turn on Wed.

Last year I posted this blog for my 31st:

Happy 31 to Me!

I wonder what this new year of life will bring? My 30 year was a wonderful one. I ran my first 1/2 marathon and got even more comfortable in my skin. I was also in one of the greatest cities there is to live in in the lower 48 (hehe). I got pregnant for my first baby that I will have during this 31st year. I celebrated my 1 year anniversary and got a second furry baby Potter. I also got a new car!

Austin this year is giving me some cold as weather for my birthday. My last cool birthday was in 2004 in Anchorage, Alaska. That was one of my best birthdays in my life. Yes, one reason it was in Anchor town, but also it was such a night of youth and excitement. I was surrounded all night by some wonderful sisters! Here are the temps in Alaska that day HERE.

And here are the Texas temps for today! The wind is what makes the actual temp here lower. This is a city full of wind!

Anyway, I look forward to the new year and all the surprises. Here is the link to my best birthday on FACEBOOK!

So how was 31? Fantastic. People sometimes dread turning 30. So far I can not complain about being in the 30s. Sure they are challenging because by this age most of us are full of life responsibilities, but they are so rewarding.

Things of 31:
1. First baby boy Louis Anthony
2 .Saw Willie Nelson, James Taylor and BB King live
3. Also saw Kings of Leon...Adele should have been on the list but that didn't happen and I skipped out on Weezer because I was so pregnant and miserable
4. Sharing the joys of pregnancy with my friends near and far and with family
5. Watching my Grandmother take a cruise to live life to the fullest and then to come home and beat the tumor she had growing in her head
6. Watching all my family enjoy Louis
7. I went to few more concerts and saw Ralphie Mae
8. Celebrated 3 years marriage!

I am looking ahead to 32 in high hopes for more memories. I am sure it will not disappoint. But then again that is all up to me. Life is only as good as we make it out to be each day!

18weeks and now 5 MONTHS!

I can't believe we are 4 weeks away from 6 months. Time flies when you are enjoying a cute and happy baby!

So tomorrow Louis will be a full 5 months. I am just posting the blog a little early.

Louis has met even more milestones this month. He is starting to try to sit up and often falls forward. At 20 weeks he started rolling BOTH ways! Let's just say it's his favorite past time these days when he is put down in his bed or on his play mat. Louis has also discovered that those cute little feet belong to him! So usually it's a grab the feet and roll motion a lot these days.

He also has started to notice his 4 legged brothers Buddy and Potter. We sat in the living room one night with Louis in his little rocker and he looked over at Buddy and began to laugh like he had heard the funniest joke. Yes, our happy baby started having big gut laughs! The cute ones you hear when you tickle the legs! I couldn't get the camera fast enough for the big laughs but I did get him giggling some at Buddy. Later in the week I got his laugh good. Both videos are below:

I also got a video of him rolling. It took 2 takes because he didn't have room at first to make a full roll.

Also this month he is more engaged in his toys and trying to reach for things that are interesting, and moving things from one hand to the next. He has got better at putting the noonie back in after he takes it out ( still a work in progress). His Daddy has spotted him a few times trying to grab the fish on his swing mobile.

I put him to sleep one night in his baby bed vs pack & play. I was fine with it and excited. Well, poor daddy was worried to pieces. Was he breathing, he couldn't see him breath or him well enough, could he please be back in the room with us. He also asked me if he was old enough to sleep in the bed, I chuckled and told him yes since the day he was born. It was so cute. He did sleep for 5-6 hours that night in his bed. When is daddy is a little closer to ready and he sleeps a few hours longer I will make a permanent movie.

I have also tried some food with Louis. Although amazingly he isn't all that interested yet. I did some homemade and did some store bought organic. He hasn't been to happy with sweet potato, so/so with bananas and apples, care less about brown rice cereal, and pears were better than bananas. I will keep trying every few weeks. I figure he will let me know when he wants the food. Below are the never released photos of food tries ( I have sub-par video of the cereal...not worth posting):

Books for this month are below. I read to him the books from my childhood that I had saved for Christmas. We also continue to read his bible. I had trouble reading the cajun one..haha.

Louis also celebrated his first New Years in style....right. Yes, and we were all asleep long before midnight in LA. We did watch the ball drop in NYC on TV. He also had his first Christmas, but that has already been blogged.

To celebrate the New Year Louis' first 2 bottom teeth have broke the skin and are showing! I will take a picture once they are out more. I weighed him last week at 17.8 pounds. At his appoint on Dec 12th he was 25 inches long. He is getting to be a big boy.

In case you were wondering....Jack is still posing every Thursday!

IN closing LSU's season ended undefeated only to be beat in the National Championship. Louis is still a fan, but says let now focus on the Saints! WHO DAT!
